When the bass are cruising the shallows or the ditches in the spring you need a bait that will stay in the strike zone as long as possible yet still have enough action to entice a strike. A good choice is the soft plastic jerkbait. Our "Senko" rods are designed to fish these baits effectively for a number of reasons. Rod length is important because the longer the rod, the wider the casting and hook-set radius. That means more tip-speed to initiate the hook-set and increased casting distance which is really important since the baits weigh next to nothing. It's not such a problem with the Senko because it's probably the heaviest of the sofr jerkbaits, but with bait like the Super Fluke, the Bass Assassin and Jerk Worm, you need a rod with a tip that will give you the ability to make nice long casts so you can cover more water, along with enough power to set the hook, even when they're out there "a countrymile". These rods range in length from 7'1" to 7'5" and handle baits up to 5/8 ounch. The MossyBack rods are our mid-price models and feature our proprietary "fiber-blend" construction with Fuji guides and reel seats. There are two casting rods and one spinning rod to cover all aspects of fishing soft jerkbaits.

This rod has a fast tip which helps initiate
accurate casts, but when it comes to distance, our proprietary progressive
power taper gives you additional rod flex to accelerate your cast and get
your bait where you need it to be. The lower 3/4th of the rod is stiff to
help you set the hook and pull big bass out of tough spots. When she tries to
go back to her sanctuary, you've got the power to stop her.
